So lucky to have such a vibrant amateur musical theatrical ethos here.
Spent the afternoon watching a wonderful performance of Sister Act by the local Musical Comedy Society. Nearly a full house this afternoon and sold out tonight.

I'm not sure what we have exactly but we live near a (pretty rubbish) city so I expect we have quite a few things. I'm always amused by 'Flicks in the sticks' - it's advertised on hand painted, wonky signs and it's always for a quite old film (that's already out on DVD) that's shown early evening in a village hall (I expect it's very nice for the people that go, but it always tickles me for some reason).
Just had a Google and there is one only a few miles away from me.
Richmond Theatre (near me) has some pretty good stuff, I enjoyed The Madness Of King George a year or two ago.
We seem to have amateur musical theatre companies and/or am-dram groups in almost every town and village around here. I do get to some of their productions but possibly not as many as I ought to.

Thank you Buenchico (but I rather stick wasps up my ***).

How sad
Not sad Daisy, just not my cup of tea. Didn't mean to detract from your enjoyment of it.
Yes, quite a few here in the Brighton and Hove area and other local towns. Musicals are not my cup of Earl Grey though. They are very very popular with everyone else ... just not moi!
Good to know that you enjoyed it Daisy. Local theatre need lots of support and I'm pleased to hear to say it's sold out. Great news for the production company and the theatre. Well done to them all.
No Musical theatre productions round here at the minute, but I am going to see 'Up Pompeii' by the local Am-Dram group soon. Looking forward to it, never been to an Amateur Dramatic show before, but the gang I'm going with say they are really good/ funny.
I used to do AmDram myself so I know how vital it is to get good support from locals.
Peaas, enjoy Up Pompeii.. nay nay and thrice nay I say.

Absolutely no mention in the weekly local paper (which has a What's On column) Films at then same venue are mentioned. Paper must be aware as the local society paid for an advert to publicise the production a few weeks ago.
