Ideally they should all do it together in as gentle a way as possible.

I've been with her today it was heart breaking to see a elderly lady crying like a child I have told his family she cannot do it they did not answer my phone call so I text them they did not reply
Surely his son or daughter should break the news to him. What good will it do for anyone if this poor lady has to do it?
We don't know where you are in this arrangement, Gypsy. Are you family or friend?
If no one does anything, where will the gentleman go when he is ready to be released from hospital?

I'm just a neighbour who calls in to help shopping etc but today when I called she had just taken the phone call from the mans son, the reason I believe the man moved in with this lady was another member of the family threatened to hit him few years ago

Oh lord. Perhaps you should ask the lady's permission to call social services for them, or try to speak to the social worker at the hospital. This shouldn't be your problem, though. What a nasty family.

Thank you for replays and support as this to me is morally wrong she was visiting daily but his family there even though they rarely called when he was home she now feels under to much pressure to visit tomorrow
I can see that the family could think that they are prepared to look for a suitable home, but explaining the need should come from his partner. But given the emotional aspect it is sad they don't feel a desire to help further by making it a joint meeting. A little compassion is no bad thing.

Hopefully the authorities can move things along.
