Taking my dog for its morning walk I couldn't help but notice how many houses had hollowed-out pumpkins in their windows as part of a Halloween celebration. For how many of them will this seemingly innocent piece of fun be the first step on the path to Satanism and perdition?

Well, I don't understand all this about Satanism and whatnot. My wife just makes pumpkin soup and pumpkin pie from our pumpkins. Are we doomed and damned for evermore?

No. I'm not saying that anyone who buys a pumpkin is on the primrose path to perdition. But a seemingly innocent enjoyment of Halloween could be the first step towards the dark satanic rituals that blight so many lives.

In my younger days, I've been involved in many (so-called) 'dark Satanic rituals' in churchyards at midnight. (I can still chant the Lord's Prayer backwards far more easily than I can forwards). I've still not seen any horned monsters appearing yet!
