Hypothetical Scenario On The Chase ...........

I wonder if the programme producers have a contingency plan, if the following scenario should ever arise:

Player 1 gets no questions correct in their cash builder (I've seen this happen a few times).
The starting position will now be £0 and the offer to go closer to home will/should be a minus amount.

Player 1 takes the minus offer (or maybe even the £0 offer).

Players 2,3 and 4 are all eliminated.

Player 1 is now playing for a minus amount !! How does that work, will they have to pay the show if they win ??

I know it's VERY unlikely, but it is possible ..... it'd be nice to see it happen, just to see what they do hehe :)

I saw an episode where no one got through so the four contestants chose one of them to go on.Can't remember what they did about the money.Sorry.

R U Bored?
When all four fail to get through, one is chosen to play for £ 4,000 which, if won, is shared among them.

I know that if no one gets through, they have to nominate one person to play for £4000 and if that 1 person wins, they share it out between all 4 of them.
From Wikipedia, 'If all four contestants are caught by the Chaser, the team's prize fund is set to £4,000 and the team nominates one contestant to proceed to the Final Chase.'

... how did you guess Baldric lol ??
If that scenario happened it wouldn't be shown I would have thought.

This scenario is different though .... I wonder if there's anything to cover this ??
Saying that the first contestant up doesn't usually get a minus offer.

I've seen it happen ummm.
I think it was a female contestant up against the beast.
She got no questions right in her cash builder, so she got a minus offer to go nearer to home, £0 if she stayed where she was and £10k to go nearer to the chaser.
She took a step nearer to the chaser and got no questions right - she got caught within 2 questions .... worst contestant ever lol !!
I think that's a very good question Giz, and a friend of mine knows somebody connected to the show, and is going to let me know.
The Chaser won't make a negative offer if the existing pot stands at zero - they may make a zero offer however, and in that case the scenario already explained above applies.

Canary, I'm sure I saw this happen when a female player went up against the beast.
She was player 1 and got £0 in her cash builder.
The offers were something like -£1k; £0 and £10k.
She took the higher offer and got no questions right and got caught within 2 questions.
If you think about it logically, the chaser is not going to offer more than £0 for taking a step nearer to home; he has to offer less or, at the very best, the same as what they earned in the cash builder.
I just wonder what would have happened if she took the minus amount and the other 3 players didn't get through ??
The offer (and the winning pot never goes to a minus number.
The low offer to the first player is ALWAYS a positive.

Assuming the first player gets 0, the low offer will be 0 as well.
Only when there is money in the bank will the low offer take from it, and never more than is in the bank.
What was the soonest the chaser caught the contestant ? Who owns the money the chaser offers and would the programm makers be in on the offers ?.Why is Bradley so keen on the contestants winning as it's the program makers who pay his wages .
I aIways wondered what wouid happen on fifteen to One if nobody got their questions right!
