is a bit absurd?
I mean, why are we here for such a short time (less than 1000 months if you live to be 80) And a lot of that time is then spent trying to work out what life is about, going through all kinds of 'trials' and then we exit non the wiser?
On top of that we have absolutely no idea why we are here except that dads sperm met mums egg in a trillion to one chance, no idea why we are even conscious of that fact and absolutely no idea why there is 'something' rather than nothing.

I've eaten enough over Christmas and the new year, I can't in fairness post a comment on Hopkirks thread.

Wish it was something that I never thought about and just make the most of it.(like most animals I presume)
BUT...I cant, my mind goes in to over drive and then I ask myself why...why is there something rather than nothing, why are we conscious and a rock is not (or maybe a rock IS conscious?)
It all seems so unreal?
