Tuesday. Wet 'n windy all night, the rain has stopped for a while but still blowing an 'ooligan.

I was sitting watching the idiot box last night, when the ceiling light fitting broke in half and the glass lampshade fell to the floor smashing two of the acid etched glass panels, half the fitting complete with the light bulb still in was attached to it, the other half is still on the cable dangling from the ceiling. I've never seen anything like it before. It's going to be an interesting conversation with the council repairs department later on!

Have a happy day everyone.

I'm a bit peeved about the lampshade as it's one of a pair. They were not cheap either.

I wondered about that one! :o} Phone in if you don't feel up to it my lovely.
Long shot but look on eBay for spares ... even the light itself if its at a reasonable price.
Nah, I'm here now.
Question Author
The light fitting itself is no problem. Oddly enough, the bulb is fine!

good plan. I'll have a look on ebay later when I've finished my running around. I don't hold out a lot of hope though.
You never know! Right, I'm off. Good day waterman & to those that follow..

Morning peas. xxx I have an order in. Always do at silly season. I'll collect it today with an addition. I have dinner party to host so I want to get a bit of fillet to marinade.

It is...or was...a lovely shade. I doubt I'll be able to replace it. I've never seen another one like them.

How are you this morning my lovely?
Morning Boaty & Peas, hi and bye Elina

From a wet and cold Aussie. Nearly a week of around 40c and today has been a wet cold windy 15c. Brrr hate these sudden changes.

Oooh sounds lovely Boaty :-) Mustard marinade?
Linas suggestion of ebay does sound the most promising start in your hunt for a replacement - good luck!

Morningo Ozzy xx Wrap up warm! (I honestly never thought I'd say that to you! :-) What'ch up to today?

All good ta - got back from hol in Gran Canaria this weekend, so am back in work all over Xmas. All good though as I feel great after a break
Good to hear you enjoyed your get away Peas, batteries charged and ready to go?

We get below freezing during winter, but, sudden changes during summer catch us out, 40c/104f for nearly a week, overnight change to 15c/60f, bit hard to acclimatise in such a short time.

My marinade for beef fillet.
