Election Posters In Windows

I've got an election poster in my window - and another big one on a stake in the front hedge. I think it's important to stand up and be counted - even if my neighbours are a tad bemused, they at least get to hear my reasoning when they ask.

But, compared to previous elections, I see precious few other private houses displaying a poster - virtually none at all round here.

Why is this?

Is it apathy? Or fear? Or what??

Let's assume you are going to vote and feel strongly about who you want to win (so excluding the "they're all botox" point of view) ....

... have you got a poster up? If not, why not?

I will be Voting, no big secret I will vote Tory.
I don't have a poster displayed, everything that has come through the letter box has been way to small, so if they can't supply, I can't display.
My tenancy doesn't allow it, but having said that I don't think I would display one.

Is it purely to announce your allegiance or to persuade floaters?

Just curious.
I don't have a poster, Dave....and I'm sick to death of standing up to be counted and then being slapped down by a shower of....*********......who lie to me and want my vote......x

A bit of both mamya.

I live in a leafy bit of Warwickshire - I think it's important to make the point that Labour voters do exist out here - and if anyone asks (as they have) I can give them my reasons for Labour in general and (most importantly) the local candidate who is an excellent and very hard working chap.
We don't need posters up here, all the buildings are being painted SNP yellow and black, with saltire bunting along the streets ;)

So you're voting Labour again then Steg?
doesn't work like that round here Dave, it's usually a large hoarding in a field that says "vote for me, I own where you live"...

;x)
Shhhh
That's nicotine & soot, steg. Yer barmpot.
We haven't got one - Mrs ichkeria and I support different parties and I thought it would be rather a hoot to have two opposing ones in the same garden, but in the end we decided to be boring :-)

I am the sort of tragic individual who actually drives around looking for the things. I have noted three Green Party boards, a handful of Tory, lots of LibDem (they have a very well organised and pretty popular party here), even one Labour and no UKIP.
Probably overall about the same number as usual. But very few, oddly, in the two neighbouring constituencies which are both Tory-Labour marginals.

Northern Ireland is the place to be if you want good quality election posters. Lots of them, posted to anything vertical, with colour pics of the candidates smiling down at you. Marvellous!

I am displaying my SNP poster proudly in the window beside my front door. Mind you, it's no secret who I vote for as I am working for the SNPs at the moment in the run up to the election.
I don't have any posters up as none of the colours go with my curtains ;)
Lol sveeji, aye we have a nuclear powered hooka
.....because I live in a safe conservative area so it would be preaching to the converted.
I wouldn't put one up because it would spoil the look of the house - so obviously I'm going to vote Tory :-) I'm very surprised that my next door neighbour who lives in a large detached house with 4 cars parked outside has a huge Vote Labour bus-stop thing in the front lawn.
Check their dustbin for empty Champagne bottles, prudie.
Ive made my own.....vote anything but the Cons.
It's a secret ballot, so I won't be putting up a sign of my intentions.
I've had a poster in my front window for several weeks now !
so sunny dave if you are telling the whole neighbourhood who u r voting for, why aren't you telling us ?
