Thunder but no lightning just rolled through notts, pouring all day so far. Have given that cats arm bands for their explorations outdoors. Hatches well and truly battened down
East of Leeds, Yorkshire. We have had steady rain since about 0900 today, but no strong winds nor hailstones. On Friday evening, however, we had thunderstorms from about 1600 until about 2000, with strong winds, plenty of lightning, and very heavy rain. I heard of a parked car being swept away on a flooded road not far from where I live.
Well looking at all your posts maybe we are getting away fairly lightly. Would love to see your cats peaspeculiar my old cat Gladys used to turn round in mid air and be back in before she went out in this sort of weather
We're enjoying the storm from the comfort and shelter of our shed. In between times, I'm trimming a few shrubs and then running back in. Beautiful day, the vegetable garden loves it.
East of Leeds (again). Heavy rain, thunder and lightning. The rain's drumming on the roof quite loudly, just like a monsoon. I was in Kenya from July to December 1961, and in the rainy season it rained just as it's doing now in Yorkshire.
After post lunch nap ( showing my age here) Pleased to report sun now shining although wind is still high - perhaps that was something to do with lunch though!
