Jet Stream Question

The inclement weather that has persisted in most parts of the United Kingdom over the last few weeks has been blamed on the repositioning of the Jet Stream.

Normally this natural phenomenon is usually several hundreds of miles further north than where it is currently stuck.

My question is those people who are knowledgeable about weather matters and is :

When was the last similar occurrence whereby the Jet Stream decided to reposition itself so as to adversely affect Blight with such shockingly dreadful rainfall?

Wasn't it about 2008, when we had those really bad floods?
I think the jet stream moves around quite regularly, the warm weather in march was also because of the position of the jet stream
At least the North Atlantic Drift is still there. Woe betide us if it stops. Suddenly it'd be like living in a different colder place.
Agree, OG - I often have to remind myself when looking at a map just how far north we are - on a par with Canada and parts of Russia.
