I dont get the weather???

Anybody else in the North West?
It is shocking down by the river mersey today, 28knott winds and hasnt stopped raining since i woke at 7am.
It is just so random and I dont have the neccessary meteorological knowledge to offer an explanation why our seasons are so unsettled???

As I said, I have just been to Portugal and although the days have been hot and sunny, its been SO windy for over a week, huge gusts, resulting in very cool evenings as the wind came from the North, nice and refreshing to keep cool in the hot daytime sun but no fun at all to sit outside for an evening meal/drink :(
