I am going to eastbourne very soon, and it will be my first ever visit. I will be staying for one night in the centre (travelodge seafront) and travelling by train. I understand that there is NOT a lot to do but still need advice on how long on the 2nd day I should spend there. I will be arriving at 11am but dont know which train ticket to buy for the return next day. I just want to know if there will be enough to do to fill a day and a half. Thanks.

If it gets too depressing ...there's always Beachy Head..!
If you get bored in Eastbourne, Hastings is just half an hour away by train. (The modern town centre of Hastings isn't particularly appealing but the Old Town, at the eastern end, is full of lots of great pubs, restaurants and unusual shops).
