Nice Hotel in the Lakes

Does anyone know of any nice hotels in the Lakes. We always stay at the Low Wood Hotel in Windermere but it is so expensive these days. We are thinking of going to the Lakes for the weekend in a couple of weeks. All ideas welcome. Thanks all.

Windermere is always busy. Why not try somewhere a bit quieter? Leeming House on Ullswater is nice, in fact there are plenty of hoterls in that area. If you don't need to be very close to water, The Bower House Inn in Eskdale is good, or The Punchbowl at Crosthwaite
I love Hillthwaite House at Windermere but don't know how much it is nowadays....
