Thomson Island Escape Cruise Ship

Thinking of booking a 7day cruise round the med in Sept, never cruised before, can anyone tell me roughly how much drinks are on board, they do an upfront drinks package for �169 per person, didn,t know if was too much or about right for 7 nights, we both like our wine and maybe a cocktail or two! cheers

Have you actually looked at the brochures for this ship.....and then compared it to the more modern ships such as the NCL, Princess, RCI or even P&O Ventura. It really is an old tugboat compared to the new ships and I don;t think will give you a very good introduction to cruising

I,ve looked at it on the thomson online site, it doesn,t look the best, i,m restricted to sailing out of palma as we have flights booked, as our original plan was to spend 2 weeks on majorca, found this as i was browsing cruise sites, really fancied the iteneray- always wanted to see Rome and Amalfi! ocean village one seemed better but no Amalfi, finding it hard to persuade my better half to cruise anyway!! and if the ships not up to much it,ll be my fault!

Is the �169 an EXTRA?

yes the �169 is a drinks package that you pay up front for your drinks on board, or you just pay for them at the end of the cruise.

So that is �24 worth of booze you have to drink a day each before you are ahead of the game...sorry even if you each do a bottle of wine a day each then you come no where near this sum.! And you cant have hangovers because it will be early starts for all those ports of call! Not wrth it IMHO.

my goodness thats �338 for two people for 7 days, thats extortion !!!!!! even alcoholics wouldnt be able to drink that much, however did they come to that figure.
Dont they do any " all inclusive " cruises ?
what a rip off, the extras at the end of a cruise are laughable anyway.
