Sea pollution at Cristianos, Tenerife

My neighbour is thinking of going soon but needs to know if the sewerage leaks have been sorted and the beach open.

My friends who live in Tenerife are on holiday so I can't ask them.

Yeah - I know the beach was closed for at least 8 days, but they want to know it's been properly sorted. It's an ongoing problem with the sewerage outlet.

Okay.

I was due to go myself in December but that's been changed to Gran Canaria. :)

I'll still be there for my usual month next year though. I booked the flight at the right time - £65 return, all in.

As ongoing as any sewage outlet ethel

july one year then september next .

im sure the beach is stil fine .

These sewage plants can break down and pipes can get damaged by boats etc .

there in los cris is the harbour so easy for a damaged pipe .

pasta was there only a few days after that story and the beachh was open .
dont think it was 8 days , tho you may be right .

I wouldnt have picked gran canaria over tenerife .

i prefer thye family friendly rather than the in your face gay friendly gran canaria .

im not anti gay

but it is marketed now as the most popular gay resort in europe.
i was just telling dot that , but she wasnt aware .

lots of changes there since i went 7 years ago .

each to their own i guess.

as for los cris same as ever .

anyway youre a royston vasey tourist ( thats what they calll silencio on local radio here )

So wouldnt matter about sewage in los cris .

Couldn't care less about gays - they are usually great fun and are absolutely no threat to me.

The last nightclub I went to was a huge gay club in Birmingham - it was a fantastic night out.

I do go to Cristianos and Americas a lot when I'm there - the taxis are cheap enough and it's not far.

I donlt get what your point is about it being somewhere gay people are welcomed leg. What difference would it make? We are in a smart looking hotel that is at the centre of the town and close to the beach, all we need is a decent pool and beach and somewhere to eat and drink, if we get that what does it matter who else is there?

It obviously does make a difference or the government of gran canaria wouldnt be spending a lot of money marketing it as a gay friendly resort .

Back in scotland i worked next to a cfew gay workmates and they did say to me when on holiday in straight resorts with families they found it hard to realax as their sexuality made them unpopular with some guests .
And if by any chance they ended up in a hotel full of english lager lout gfans it was easier to pretend to be straight.

Sio i cant arghue with their experiences but only take it as being true .
