Nights out in calais

Where is the best place to stay in calais where you can have a good few drinks. Me and a friend are going to belgium and stopping at calais on the way back for a jolly. Any suggestions?

Agree 100%. Lille is a town with some character whereas Calais is just a scruffy port. However if you have to stop there they have a number of budget hotels such as Ibis and Accor etc.

If you do want to go to Calais you could always try camping at Sangatte. The area has an international flavour to it.
