trainline are more expensive than the others.

Any train operator's site or any staffed station will sell tickets cheaper than trainline.

Avoid raileasy as well - they charge fees.

Puddicat, you don't say where you're travelling from, but as an example, London to Liverpool can cost as little as �13 one-way. It's often cheaper to but two singles rather than a return

I use Thetrainline quite a lot and, provided you're flexible, you can get all manner of good deals if you look carefully.
