Can anyone recommend a hotel in Italy, Greece or Spain which has all, or most, of the following assets: 1. 4 or 5-star rating 2. On or right beside a lovely sandy beach 3. Very large swimming-pool 4. Quiet at night (absolutely no parties or music blaring) 5. Smart modern rooms with balconies and sea views 6. No kids Experience tells me these credentials are virtually impossible to find in one hotel, so please surprise me.

Raysparx1, that's excellent and may well do the trick. Thank you. How long does it take to fly there from the UK (Gatwick in our case)? I hear the runway at Fuetaventura is scarily short....

Hi flip, I haven't been to that particular riu palace, we are doing that one next year, but all the others we have been in, have a cabaret at night, if you want it, it is always top quality, but there are still quiet areas in the hotel and all the rooms are very quiet, we have never been disappointed in one of the rius, yet, if there are children in the hotel (quite rare to see them) thay are never noisy children, Ray
The weather then should be just nice, I would think probably about 4 hours flying time,
