I love love love Lanzarote, been a few times to Porta De Carmen! It's the long 4 mile street opposite the beach! I loved this part! (20 mins from airport!)

In the night the street comes alive and has plenty of bars and hospitality! If your going, say helo to the man who makes crepes (the one who looks like buddy holly!)

It's has a brease there, so isn't too hot, but still get a good tan!

;0)))))

That has a huge market! You'll liek it there, it's all good anyway as it's a small island and you can get around it pretty quick! Ohh so jealous now, we're going to the Breccon Beakons in our Caravan! not quite the same!!!

I went to costa teguise
where it's ever so breezy
take a cardi
unless you are hardy.

Actually I went Sept 07 and altho breezy it was also hot. Layer up the sun lotion as you can burn easily in the wind. I used P20 lotion . Enjoy!

We are going to Haven again in the summer, we went last year. But I haven't been abroad since 1997 and the kids have never been! My son is sooo excited about going on an aeroplane! He doesn't seem to realise he is going to another country though!
4get, you will have to let me know what it was like! x

Cool. I am really excited! I have been reading reviews of the apartments that I like and they are very good!
Just need to persuade Mr daffi! He said we could go on holiday, I don't think he quite realised I would have it all planned by the time he got home! Lol! x

Been a couple of times

Was there in March in Playa Blanca, very nice and 85 degrees

Personally I found Puerto Del Carmen a dump, it could have been Blackpool but each to their own!

Costa Teguise is very nice - not too 'clubby', if you want the bright lights Puerto del Carmen is the 'Blackpool' area! Loads of restaurants/bars in Teguise, nice sandy beach. Car hire is cheap - don't go on day trips via your tour operator, much cheaper to book locally. Have a good time, use plenty of sun cream as the breeze can make the suns strength deceptive.

Thanks all. Mr daffi is home tonight, so I can show him all the info I have and hopefully he will agree with me that Costa Teguise is where we will be going! x

I went 20 yrs ago and it was hot hot hot -dont let the apparent hazy sky deceive you.
We went to Puerto del Carmen -was quiet then but I daresay it has livened up.
The nice thing about there is that there are no high rises building -max 2 levels so its retained a lot of charm.
I liked it -was a nice chilled place -the sand was burning hot -think it was hotter than normal sand cos it is much darker-so just watch for that -other than that I concur with everyone -a lovely island in the Canary Islands.

Thanks Drisgirl. We wanted somewhere warm, not too far away and that was suitable for families. Seems I have made the right choice! I will be showing Mr daffi this thread! Lol! x

Have Your Say

With road tax hikes hitting those with 2001-2006 registered cars, would you consider selling up and buying a pre-2001 model to escape the the tax mans wrath?

Yes

No

The hikes don't really bother me
