Tunisia?

Does anyone know what language they speak in Tunisia? And whether you need vaccinations? All websites I've had a look at so far have said something different!

The language is Arabic.

If you're staying in the main holiday centres, you probably don't need any vaccinations. However, people staying with local families, long term visitors and health professionals (among others) are advised to ensure that their vaccinations against Hepatitis A & B are up to date. 'High risk' travellers should also consider vaccination against Typhoid (although it's only partially effective anyway) and Rabies. All travellers should ensure that their vaccinations against Tetanus are up to date.

See here for the 'official' advice from NaTHNaC, which works alongside the Department of Health and the Foreign & Commonwealth Office to provide guidance to travellers:

Also, remember that you can always check up on the current vaccination requirements, for travel to any country, by phoning NHS Direct on 08 45 46 47.

English and a bit of French are widely spoken in tourist areas.

If you visit Tunis or go about outside the tourist areas, french is the default language or tunisian arabic.
If you are white and not in a tourist resort they will assume you are german.
It is very clean - I stayed in Tunis and travelled round and did not have any vac's, and I believe I am still alive. Cleaner than Egypt.
