1 bag hand luggage gatwick?

Is there still a restriction on the number of bags that can be carried through security at gatwick airport as part of hand luggage? I want to take 1 sleeping bag and 1 other bag with me. Is this possible?

The security restriction, limiting travellers to a single item of hand baggage at Gatwick was lifted on 7 January:
http://www.dft.gov.uk/transportforyou/airtrave l/airportsecurity/cabinbaggage

However, individual airlines have their own requirements, which are unrelated to security. You should check the relevant airline's website to see what's permitted.

Remember, as well, that there are still size limits for items of hand baggage:

the airport doesn't mind; I carried two bags on with me last week. But check the airline requirements, as Chris suggests

Thanks to all for your suggestions. Indeed, Easyjet (my airline) only allows one piece of hand luggage onboard so thats all we can take.
