I am planning a trip to Mexico leaving Sept 12. Its a last minute thing and just applied for a new, first-time passport Friday, August 10th. I had the order expedited. Since I will only need to be in the system and show proof through the State Dept web site, can I count on my application being in the system prior to the Sept 12 departure date?
