The currency is the Turkish Lira, not the Euro.
Turkey are not even in the EU so why would it be the Euro.

Ooh spikey... I know nothing about Turkey other than a few months ago someone told me they were trying to get into the EU - and I wasn't sure if that had happened. That's why I'm looking for some helpful AB'ers that may be able to give me some information about the country.

For anyone who would be kind enough to help me here, is it cheap, safe, will any innoculations be required etc? It's been a last minute invitation - which was too good an offer to refuse, but now I need to do some homework PDQ.

If he's prone to misbehaviour you might want to show him Midnight Express.

Turkey's a lovely country, with kind and helpful people, great beaches, ancient ruins, and Istanbul is fantastic - bazaars, palaces, mosques.
