Vehelpfulguy: That sounds like a nice choice.. would there be the possibility of continuing a University education out there? Also, what are your reasons for choosing Malta?
AllYourBase: Mum suggested Gibraltar, apparently they use the pound, and are governed by the same laws as we are (They're part of the UK, I believe?)
Where abouts is Belize? My geog. isn't tooo hot.. also why 'soon' for Cyprus?
Could you also explain why you chose those places.
I understand its a lot of bother, Just want to get a grasp on everything before I go ahead and visit 2 or 3 places. Thanks! :)
Also, do these places require any Immediate Family? What lang's are spoken? Are there any tough skills required to be accepted, remember at the time of moving, I am only going to have GCSEs, AS's and A-Levels.
The Canaries are a good bet, for UK passport holders you dont need a visa to live or work, and English is the second language in nearly all tourist resorts.
I live in Fuerteventura, emigrated here 3 years ago. Never looked back!
Although it is right to say that Gibraltar is generally warmer than England and the pound is the local currency and English is widely spoken, you'd be absolutely 100% WRONG in choosing Gibraltar as your base for which to study at university. YES at school English is spoken and GCSE and A Levels are taken. BUT Gibraltar has NO universities!!! It is a tiny place, trust me, I was born there and went to school until I was 18, at which time I came to England to study at university. This is what every Gibraltarian student does. The Gibraltar Government issues students with a grant for which to pay their fees, which enables them to study at an English University.
Try Cape Town,South Africa. Fabulous Country, excellent University, English is the main language and everything is cheaper than the U.K. eg petrol about 50p a litre and you could rent a good one bed flat for around 250 pm near the beach and no...........lions do not roam the streets.
