Sorry, Hc4361. All I saw was a thread full of people who don't know where 'Brid' is. Ruddy 'eck, they'll be saying that they've never heard of Skeggy next ;-)

Brid?????

Never heard of it, is it short for something.

If it is short for say Bridlington then please say so as I am sure most people would not know what 'Brid' is.
or Bridport ? Darzet... no I dont think so
[ cue jokes that Darzetters are so slow anyway that telling the demented from the local is i,possible]

or Brightlington ? Lanc - rains a lot
Not sure about Brid (Bridport?) but I don't think any hotel or B&B would claim to be not dementia friendly, what do you mean by that?
Yorkshire folk are as economical with their words as they are with their cash. They don't speak of Doncaster, it's always Donny.
It is illegal to discriminate against someone on grounds of disability , so all hotels / BBs have to be 'dementia friendly' .

You could try sending an email to the local Alzheimer's Society - they may be able to recommend somewhere

o you mean Bridders ?
you could try Beaminster
a town of zombies if ever you saw one
or West bay
you dont get phalanzes marching out into the incoming tide every day but I could well imagine it "!
Take it you mean Bridlington in the East Riding. If so, might be able to let you some useful contacts. Good luck with your Mum.
Try an email to

to see if anyone in the local Alzheimer's support group can suggest something suitable.
What a great idea, Buenchico
