Have been looking at adding seating to a booking. It's 2 adults with 3 children under 12 the final price comes out at £75. So that's 7.50 pp each way. But I'm led to believe up to 4 children can seat free with each adult who purchase a seat.
I'm having a dull moment how the final price comes out at £75.

Personally, I would grab this bargain and run !

Where are you off to ?

It states rocky rows 18-30 which is the rows I am selecting.
It seems I am being charged 7.50 each way for each child, when they shouldn't be paying anything.
You get allocated seating with Ryanair now.
I've never heard of children being able to sit free. How old are they because £7.50 to pick your seat sounds about right.
Believe it or not, their customer service is very good, so, I'd give them a ring.
Just a wee thought. You did tick the under 16 box for the kids, didn't you?
Question Author
Yes ummm, but that way the way Ryanair work it's not guaranteed children will be sat with their parents. Crazy but true.

Have had a look at the contact us link rocky but can't see any phone numbers. Unless you know it?
I have never flown with RyanAir, but why on earth would they separate kids from their parents, on purpose ?

Shakes head in disbelief !
Yeah. Although I've only ever been allocated a seat next to the people I'm travelling with. Never pre-booked ones.
Mikey...they don't do it on purpose. People pick their seats and pay extra for them. Ryanair can only allocate seats from the ones not prebooked.
But shouldn't Ryanair give priority to people with small children ?

What if you turned up at the Airport and found your 5 year old kid was 20 rows behind you on the plane ?

This sounds like a money-making scam on behalf of Ryanair !

Still shaking his head in disbelief.
Mikey - it's not..Ryanair are actually really good now but they can't help it if people pick their seats before others. If a child wasn't sitting with a parent they would try everything they could to resolve it.
Ummm...well I hope so, but it would save an awful lot of time and heartache if the airline were to allocate family seats at the same time as booking.
I've flew with them 2 or 3 times a year for the last 4 years and I've never witnessed it happen. Young children get priority boarding do it's unlikely to happen either.
All airlines charge to pre-book and select seats not just Ryanair.
Here's a question Mikey, why should you be given priority just because you have children?
If I want to pay and book seats then I would not give them up because someone else doesn't want to pay to reserve their seats!
Yeah, they do Prudie. I checked my holiday flights today and they would cost the same.

I think with allocations when you book the names come out on a list so they know Mrs Smith has just booked for 6 people and the computer will try and allocate accordingly.

Prebooking is good if you want extra leg room or be by the toilets.
ha i'd pay extra not to sit next to my 5 year old!
Lol bednobs, I asked my friend the same question and she said how much to sit on the next plane!!
