I'm here for just one day now. I know there is a very good Dali museum in Fuegres (sp?) which is too far to go, but I'm sure I've seen details of another Dali museum in Barcelona city itself. Googling just takes me to the far away one.

Does anyone know where, and how to get there? I'm in the centre of Barcelona.
Thank you

As Fjc19 indicates, it only takes 55 minutes by train from Barcelona Sants to Figueres Vilafant but you do need to plan your travel in advance a,s there can be some big gaps between train services. For example, you can travel out tomorrow at 0720, 0825, 0925 or 0945 but there's not another train until 1244. The return fare is typically €33.60:...

Centre Artístic Museu Dalí Escultor
Carrer dels Arcs, 5, Barcelona, Spain
Is this the one you were thinking of?
Its quite near the Cathedral of Barcelona.

Hope this helps

Are you sure that's still there. Fcj19?

The website is down and then don't seem to be any online references within the past few years.

Further, I can't see it mentioned on the Dali Foundation website:
https://www.salvador-dali.org/en/museums/

I can't see it mentioned on Barcelona's official tourism website either:

If you can get to see some of Dali's work (somewhere) I strongly recommend the experience. I was lucky enough to visit the largest ever collection of his work a few years ago (at the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía in Madrid) but, alas, it was only a temporary exhibition. It was totally mind-blowing!
This may well be closed now....it was a few years since I visited.
I also went to the Dali exhibition in Madrid....
Figueres may not be too far away and is a really easy train journey from Barcelona. It takes less than an hour. The Museum is marvellous, and completely bonkers.

If you can't get to the Dali museum, then I highly recommend a visit to Sagrada Familia. It's a magnificent building.
I have been to Barcelona a few times and never came across a Dali museum however the Picasso museum in the barrio gotic and the Miro foundation on Montejuic are great. There is also a small gallery on the Passeig de Gracia about a block north of la pedrera (on the corner of the block like la pedrera) that has exhibitions by lesser known but interesting international artists - and it's free.

Thanks, everyone. I'll look at trains to Figueres.

I definitely want to see Sagrada Familia. We went to the Picasso museum yesterday. It was very good.
