This practice is far from unknown within Islam, but that the government of arguably the most liberal of Islamic nations should even consider such a proposal is mind-boggling. With human rights legislation in place in Europe, how can that country possibly aspire to membership – or have any application seriously considered?

Well Germany is probably not far in becoming an Islamic state thanks to Merkle so should not be an issue.

All part of the stated Islamic plan to create the caliphate across Europe.
Muslim world is now in the medieval, so let them play.Yes, it`s harsh and unfair, but the world is unfair too.
How Turkey can still harbour ambitions to join the EU, considering their attitude towards paedophile activities is completely beyond me.
The fact that some were suggesting it was a good thing to introduce into law must speak volumes about those proposing it. And to an extent, on those prepared to vote them into office.
Yep, another belter from the R/0/P!
I assume they retain the right to beat them after marriage as is traditional.
Its been suggested, many times, by the LEAVE campaign, that Turkey could have qualified to join the EU, despite there being ample evidence that it would never happen. And that was a good enough reason for us to leave.

Scaremongering of the first order.
I seem to recall certain AB'ers slating UKIP for their Party Political Broadcast over Turkey wishing to join the EU.

Mikey, where is the ample evidence that it will never happen? In the run-up to the referendum I seem to recall David Cameron assuring the electorate that it wouldn't happen yet.
Fizz can you explain your post at 08.33 please? Not sure what you mean.
I think fizz means that Islam is 500 years adrift from what we call civilised behaviour. They are going through a sort of "Spanish inquisition" phase.
I suspect it is a claim that some parts of the world they have not got the modern views that some of the other pasts have; so Fizz suggests they have collectively made their own bed and have to lie in it. Rather harsh on the victims but I suspect the suggestion is that it is nothing to do with outsiders how those countries run their affairs or treat their citizens.
... other PARTS have ....

Wonder where Mikey thinks these ideas come from.
