Unless M.Hollande can back up his statement that Boris is a liar he may find himself on the wrong end of a slander suit.
naomi24 - I'm surprised that you seem concerned about what a Turk and a French perosn thinks about BJ .

From memory, Boris has called Obama half-Kenyan ......an extraordinarily tactless blunder for a politician that is desperate to be taken seriously.

As he is now Foreign Secretary, what is he going to call Obama when they next meet, which is likely to be pretty soon ?
As posted on another thread - Boris's CV for the role of Foreign Secretary:

Mikey, //Boris has called Obama half-Kenyan ......an extraordinarily tactless blunder for a politician that is desperate to be taken seriously. //

Why is it a tactless blunder? Obama is half Kenyan. He said so himself.

Retro...what on earth is a POTUS ?

You are not following TTT's example here are you, by making words up as you go ?
Nope. President of the United States. Thought you were ace in matters political?
President Of The united State
"Half-Kenyan" wasn't the insult, it was "ancestral dislike of the British empire" - the full quote was:

"No one was sure whether the President had himself been involved in the decision. Some said it was a snub to Britain. Some said it was a symbol of the part-Kenyan President's ancestral dislike of the British empire - of which Churchill had been such a fervent defender."

The decision in question was the removal of a bust of Churchill from the Oval Office. Obama's response is here:

Thanks Ellipsis.

It is also true the Kenyans have a grudge against the UK. That is why we apologised to a load of mau mau terrorists a year or so back who were tapping us for a bit of compo and we ruddy gave it them as well. Pheeeesh.

:o)
Interesting. a Turkish leader who refuses to see the legitimate concerns of his country joining the EU to those already in the EU but gets annoyed at them being pointed out: and a French politician who says a) that Johnson acts like a politician, and then b) says Johnson lied during the referendum, but neglects to give details. The French guy sounds like he was given the wrong ministerial role. I'm glad we don't have a foreign secretary who makes such gaffs.
