I sometimes watch Flightradar24.com, for a few mins every day, and I have noticed that there are still flights going to Tunisia from the UK. I would have thought that most Brits would have been repatriated by now. But maybe there are still some there ?

Some holiday companies have brought home UK residents, but it doesn't necessarily mean airline companies have.
People travel for reasons other than holidays - and not only Brits.
I would guess there are still a few out there.

It is advised that only essential travel. There might be some Tunisians in the UK that need to get home.

Yes, you are all probably correct. It was just a surprise this morning to see 2 flights though, one going to Enfidha, which I had never heard of !
Morn Mickey, I think after what's happened in Tunisia, most important the loss of life, the destruction of the Tourist Ind, the lost of, I would say thousands on jobs including the Suppliers, the flights, reputation, Fright of returning to a wonderful country, the Country's in that area should say, enough is enough, IS Does not represent the Muslim religion, we are going to find, seek you out, & destroy you, there are man out there that could sort this out, what's your views?
I went to Tunisia as a teenager. Although I had a nice time I knew I'd never go back.

It's the kind of place where you stay in your resort.
Flights to Enfidha serve the tourist resort of Hammamet.
Holidays stop, but business carries on.

The flights I can see on FlughtRadar are going to Tunis not the one serving Sousse.
Just looked at Enfidha-Hammamet International Airport, and I see no planes.
Some people go there to work. There are still Tunisians here who need to go home. Tourists are not the only ones that need flights. Travel to Tunisia is not banned , it is only 'recommended' that only essential travel takes place.
There are still flights to Syria and North Korea , both places that have recommendations for 'essential travel only' There are flights to Saudi Arabia that allows no tourists at all.

TWR...much has been said about Tunisia in the last few days and I'm not sure I am able to add much that is new.

But I had a wonderful holiday there in 1999. I stayed very near the hotel where the shootings happened. I found the people to be very friendly and welcoming. The country has a great wealth of things to see and if you are like me, with an interest in anything Roman, the place is a treasure trove of delights ! It was my first and only visit to North Africa and I found the place to be very "exotic" .

My friend and I went to visit a Mosque in Sousse, which was fascinating. We both had shorts on, as the heat was fearsome and we were given some thin blankets to cover our legs up with ! The Guide seemed to appreciate our interest and was only too happy to show us around. We were given some very hot, very sweet mint tea afterwards. They couldn't have been more welcoming or friendlier.

What IS is trying to do is to sow as much confusion and dissent amongst Muslims in this region as it can, in the hope that civil war will break out, and then they can step into the breach and assume control.. The Tunisians struggled for years to throw off the French and since independence, they have achieved huge amounts of change and improvements to their society. If you drive out into the country, as I did, you will see that even in the poorest villages, the Schools are the most modern buildings around. You see orderly little crocodiles of children making their way to school, girls as well as boys. The Tunisian people that I met were very keen for their kids to have the best education that it was possible for them to have, knowing that education was the way forward. They were also keen to practise their English.

What has happened there in the few days has been a tragedy that I hope that they can recover from. There are some on here that say that all Muslims are the same, and that they are all basically evil. I will never adhere to that flawed and ignorant concept, especially where Tunisia is concerned. IS represent a small but growing schism of Islam, and to lump all Muslims together is just sloppy thinking.

Now I must go to work !
There were bombs in Marmaris, Turkey a few years back, but hundreds of thousands of Brits are there this summer. So Tunisia will recover.

Ummmm...perhaps you should have ventured out of the Hotel compound !
I did, and I am very glad to have done so. See my previous post.

The thought of going somewhere on holiday, and having to stay in a heavily guarded compound doesn't appeal to me one little bit. I am not a beach person, as I get bored easily, and when I go on hols, I like to see the country and meet the people. Lack of funds prevents me from even thinking of going abroad any more but if I could, I would want to go to interesting places. That for me is what travel is all about.

Lets hope so Gromit...they need our money !
Mikey, Many Tunisians despise the west – and westerners - and have done for years. Of course people in holiday resorts are going to show a friendly face to tourists. Holidaymakers are their livelihood.
We did venture out once and were just faced with beggers and poverty. I was only a teenager so was under the control of my parents. This would have been about 1986.
Dont forget there may be scheduled flights to Tunisia, not just package tours

I understand Ummm ! By the way, I nearly tripped over a beggars dog in town yesterday !
Mikey, if that's intended to compare your home area to Tunisia, you really didn't get around much on your fortnight's holiday, did you.
// I have noticed that there are still flights going to Tunisia from the UK.//

but none seem to ever come back

has something happened there that I have perhaps missed ?
