I used them to get to Stockholm two years ago. Found them to be fine for the short flight. The price was very reasonable so I was not expecting anything special.
They are not the only airline to only allow boarding cards to be printed within 24hrs of boarding.
There are 476 reviews on Skytrax:

thanx chris, but what i´ve read so far, most reviews seemed to be obsessed about how bad the inflight food was, nothing about boarding cards.
I used them when I went to see Linfield play in Norway a few years back and I can't remember the food, but the flights were great.
>>>nothing about boarding cards

Your assumption, in your original post, was correct. You can't check in online with Norwegian Air until 24 hours prior to departure.
Bro in law used them to the USA Fort Lauderdale twice return in Premium Eco, second time ten days ago with my sister. First trip was fine, on time, food okay, seat fine.

Second trip return was a disaster -on the return, they were down-graded - apparently there's some ruse with eco passengers rocking up with 2 bags instead of one, and for about twenty or thirty pounds more than paying for the second piece, they can upgrade to PE, hence a bit of a money-grabbing exercise.

There was an enormous show-down over it, to no avail, food crap/seat too small and cramped, result no sleep back into London. Compensation being sought, no reply yet from them though they promise to get back on complaints within the week.....
My sister just used them but couldn't check in online, whether that is just Ibiza or other places I have no idea, neither could my friend. But a very nice airline from what I have heard.
No food supplied on Gat-Ibiza flight unless you paid.

i thought free food was only available on long haul flights.
I`ve heard that they are quite good. There will always be good stories and bad stories about an airline. People tend to post the bad stories because they like to complain rather than compliment.
Used them to fly back from JFK. New planes, good legroom. Paid £30 more to pick seat, have meal and 1 suitcase. Got boarding pass at airport. Very impressed! One word, if you are going with them sign up fir the loyalty programme before you book and then you can put your loyalty membership number into the booking. They will not apply the airlines afterwards so therefore I got no points for my flight.
