From where, to where?
I think if you openly tell the airline staff that you are at risk of injury then they may not want to risk allowing you to fly. Anyone can fall over up or down a flight of stairs. Maybe I've misinterpreted the question, sorry.
I don't understand the question properly - sorry. You are nauseous due to a medical condition - why would that make you fall over? Has the doctor told you not to fly?
Depends what`s wrong with you.
I don't quite understand either. If you want to fly, just fly and don't tell them. If you want a refund get a doctors note.
Are you so scared of flying that the thought of it makes you sick? There are quite a few people who are the same. Your GP can prescribe anti sickness pills and tranquilisers to help.
Depends on what you are sick with. If you have Ebola, probably not, not if you have piles they may consider it if you promise not to wriggle too much.
What if your piles explode due to the pressure? That can`t be nice.

i mean , if you were sick and could cause yourself or others harm on a flight then would the airline let you fly, if you got a doctors letter and showed the airline it would they cancel and renew your flight untill such times that you recover.

ok , reason being , im booked on flight from dublin to bangkok i intitially booked it for a week, now ive changed my mind and want to book it longer as ive no work back home , anyway i called the agent, told them i wanted to extend my return flight, they quoted more even than the original flight, so hence im now thinking of a way to get my return flight put back. ive heard people get doctors letters in thailand stating they are sick then their insurance covers them .

once knew a guy who lost his passport on return journey, he had travel insurance .

im looking at all possibilities , does that answer your question piper .
really though if i lost my passport on my return leg then surely my insuarnce would need to pay for cancellation flight plus new passport and costs .
Totally dependent on airline's discretion whether you fly. I was somewhat amazed to see an extremely ill looking man boarding my flight home from Argentina in February, this does not have a good ending, he died on the flight home.

What you have booked is a 'package deal' of a fixed flight out and a fixed flight back. This is a lot cheaper than full price individual tickets that you can alter. You can either use the fixed price ticket you have or 'bin it' and buy another ticket home, the ticket you have can not be changed. So you now want to go to Thailand and once there get a doctor to write a letter saying you are too ill to travel so that you can claim a new flight on your travel insurance? That is fraud.
Question Author
yea but its only a " wee tiny lie " ........sure take a look at our politicians and big businesses theyre the worst but then thats a totally different topic altogether LOL
NO. If your Illness causes the flight to be diverted to another Airport for an Emergency, I would say no, health to a person en entering the plane has to be considered, plus the cost of the Diversion.
TWR you have not followed the posts, dieseldick wants to get a doctor to sign a fraudulent letter so that he can claim a new flight under his travel insurance by saying he is sick when he just wants to stay in Thailand longer.
He does not intend getting on the flight.
dieseldick what makes you think a doctor would be willing to sign a false letter saying you are too ill to fly when actually there is nothing wrong?
I can see what he wants to try Eddie, does Porridge come to mind?
Eddie....have you ever been to Thailand?
