Going to Luxor. Can't remember having any inoculations or pills for Egypt before, but I do remember buying an entry visa on arrival. Can I get that before leaving? And do I need any jabs or pills before going?

I went many years ago and remember having typhoid and hepititas jabs, along with malaria tablets. But i could easily be out of date now.
I've been in and out with nowt, the visa is given at the airport. As long as you are up to date on your tetanus and heppie jabs...........

Blimey, boxy. Hep A and typhoid? Fine. Better safe than sorry, but I can't think that typhoid is a risk in a 5 star on Crocodile Island. The name suggests there may be more immediate hazards! I note, with some amusement, that they don't call it that any more. They did when I was there 20 years ago.
I remember when we went to Tunisia, what you needed was dependent on how deep into the country you were going. Coastal town requirements were much less. Just don't eat anything that's been washed in tap water :-(
Had Hep A Tetanus Polio & typhoid. Think recomendation is based on whatever is most prevalent at the time.
Got visa before we went but had to allow quite a bit of time.
You buy the visa on entry at the airport. £10 each I think it was last summer
Used to work in the Sinai and didn't need any jabs before I went. May have changed now but the NHS will tell you.
good advice about the water, nor brush teeth in it, use bottled water, or have ice in drinks, many a person has come unstuck over that..
The official advice on health via the FO website - (scroll down for typhoid)
