Holiday ideas please.......

We can't decide what to do for a holiday this summer; anyone got any ideas.

There are 5 of us (2 adults and 3 kids (8, 6 & 3)) and we want to go away for a week or two in late August.

We need something that doesn't rely on good weather(obviously), that will keep the kids amused and is cheap.

Any ideas appreciated

oh and did I mention it has to be cheap?

Thanks
A

Sidari on North coast of Corfu would be suitable for all options. We (as a retired couple) liked the far end which was beautiful, quiet and very picturesque, but the main part in the town itself was quite commercialised and more suitable for families. Quite a long coach ride to the airport though for small children.

@Pizza I'm based in Nottingham.

I quite fancy Haven but HWMBO thinks it is too much money for a glorified campsite.
Wherever you go just remember ... kids love water.
Expensive villain Portugal .... kids thought it ok.

Cheap static in France with water-park (slides etc) kids absolutely loved it.
Thanks andrew I will have a look about but I don't think you could get a better deal than the Corfu one for the price is that half board ?
Haven hols are good but aren't cheap and we def aren't guaranteed the weather.
@ Mick-Talbot how cheap are you talking for France please?
Not sure of the top of my head, pizza. We went on a 3 camp tour (I like to be on the move, not overly keen on staying in one place for a fortnight)

I just know it was a fraction of the cost of a villa in Portugal.
No probs Mick was just thinking about a week next year abroad with the grandkids who all do like water and it would have to be a cheap break.
so they can get to sydney, five of them for £700? great!!!

We spent some great summers Youth Hostelling when the kids were young.
