Apparently dzug, the russians are not keen on changing £ stirling into roubles hence euros or dollars are suggested by justgorussia.com. As jno says tips are expected in some of the smaller villages we will be visiting in cafe's etc.

I have decided to take Euros now after phoning the company again, and change some into roubles when I am there.
