Zakynthos (Zante) Airport - What's it like now?

Have heard some horror stories about the airport in Zakynthos but also that a new departures area has now opened. Has anyone used the airport in the past couple of months and can tell me what it's like at the mo and if there is anything we should be prepared for.

We were there in May and we had no problems at all. I also went 18 years ago at this time of year and all I remember then was how hot and stuffy it was. It is definitely better now. But May is the beginning of the season so we might have been very lucky. It has really built up over the years for the better.

I agree with most of the answers, who cares what the airport is like? You'll spend only a tiny percentage of your holiday there, so just go and enjoy your holiday and don't worry about the airport!

Thanks, | don't normally worry about the airport, but this is the first time I'll be travelling with my 16month old baby, while also being 7 months pregnant and am a bit concerned about the stories about queuing outside in the heat for a couple of hours and not being able to get a drink there, so just want to see what it's like now so I can make sure Im prepared!
