passport expiry

i am due to fly out to Spain on 01/07/08 returning on 05/07/08 I have just noticed it runs out 5 days later on the 10/07/08 is it still alright to travel on current passport.

i dont think it will be ok. most places require you to have at least 6 months validation remaining on your passport. i would get down to your local passport office asap and get a new one, but maybe i am wrong.

You can travel to any EU country on a UK passport that is valid - no minimum length required.

Indeed Spain used to accept recently expired Britsh passports - but I haven't been able to verify if this is still the case.
