Well it seems like "Action Man" Prince William is now off on a sunny Caribbean cruise, courtesy of the Royal Navy.

Extracts from the article

His role, with 185 shipmates on the 4,900-ton warship, will be to track down and board vessels suspected of trafficking cocaine from South and Central America

And he may be issued with a handgun or a rifle for his own protection if he joins boarding parties, who use high-speed launches to raid suspicious boats.

Does anyone else think that the future King will be put to this risk?

The Rear Admiral said: 'It will be a thrill and privilege not a pain in the a*** for the ship's company. 'If we treated him like some super-VIP and tailored a programme for him and walked around on eggshells, then it would be difficult.

I can hear the egg shells cracking now.

may also undertake humanitarian missions in the Caribbean, as his deployment comes during the hurricane season.

Ah! so this is the real reason, Prince William undertaking humanitarian missions in the Caribbean and Prince Harry carrying them out in South Africa.

He going to be a pretty busy chap, all in 8 weeks, 3 weeks Basic training and 5 weeks aboard The Frigate "Iron Duke".

a sunny Caribbean cruise in the hurricane season? Sooner him than me.
It will qualify him to be an rear admiral at least.

Perhaps then he could take a 3 week course in glider lessons to get his air commodore medal.

Who knows where his qualifications could end he could spend one night in a tent on dartmoor and become leader of the S.A.S.

I dont see why tax payers money is wasted rounding up someone elses criminals.
Breaking news - Royalty in 'priveleged existence' shock.
Along with his 184 comrades.

If you think being aboard a ship in the hurricane season is a privilege, your idea of a holiday is somewhat different to mine.
I surprise they didn't send him on an aircraft carrier. Then he could have practised his flying as well.
