sailing from india to iran

i know this is a mad one but does anyone know how long does it take to sail from india to iran if at all possible am writing childrens story thanks in advance if you can help me.

it'll depend where from and where to - India in particular is a huge place and sailing from the east coast will take far longer than from the west. Also what sort of boat?

If your story is to take place in current time then you could think in terms of 3-4 days from the west coast of India. If it is to take place during wind power days then you can pick a length of time depending on the weather, events, adventure, etc. you incorporate.
