Aug holiday destinations

As its a special anniversary in August 09, we want to go all romantic & tropical etc. Not Europe. We quite fancy a water bungalow in the maldives but is weather too dodgy? Mauritius was another thought, anyone been to either in August? any other ideas too would be welcome. Carribean, india is no good, hurricanes etc. Willing to spend a bit, but not limitless!

Have a look at Madagascar, especially the south and such locations as Isle St.Marie or Pangalanes lodges. It is a long time since I was there and tourism was in its infancy but it was a very nice part of the world to visit. I would not expect it to have lost much of its charm and you should find it quite special.

Actually Maldives on August is good for holidaying. Because the monsoon time is from May till July. On August the weather is not bad.

This is still a great time to go to the states due to the low value of the american dollar. One of my most favourite and romantic places is little palm island. You'd fly to Miami, drive into the keys, then a private yacht would pick you up and take you to the private island.

It's even better because August is low season in Florida, so there are very few people there. The white sand is endless and your private bunglaows make it a truly memorable escape!
