Firefox help for a blond girl!
I use Firefox as my web browser and I’m hoping someone can help me with this problem.
Recently a folder containing links to various online dictionaries has disappeared from my bookmarks link on the LH side of the screen. However, I’ve discovered that the folder is still in the computer as using the “search” facility in Vista shows me it’s location as C://Users/Username/Favorites/Bookmarks Menu.
When I click on the “Organise Bookmarks” under “Bookmarks” on the top of the firefox page toolbar, a window opens called “library”. In the LH pane of this library window, the missing dictionary folder is shown in its correct alphabetical position. The library window shows the path to here as above. In the RH pane of the library window, shortcuts are shown to each of the URL’s stored in the folder.
As this folder obviously exists on the hard drive, I’ve tried to copy it back into the Firefox bookmarks. However, when I copy and paste, the only thing that happens is that a different icon appears in the favourites list in Firefox bearing the title of the path to the folder as above. Clicking on this icon, results in a new Firefox window opening with shortcuts to all the URL’s in the folder and titled “index to” followed by the path. However, each of these URL’s can be selected to take me to the appropriate web page.
