i have had mmissed calls on my fone and when i ring back the mobile is always turned off, is there any way i can find out who the number belongs to?

You could try entering the entire number into Google's search box. If it belongs to a company, there's a good chance that it will be found by Google. Or, if that particular number has produced complaints about being connected with nuisance calls, it will probably show up on Google.
