no route found

Can anyone help please. I wanted to use my Tom-Tom to travel to Nottingham from where i live, i entered it as a City Centre it came back NO ROUTE FOUND so i tried Derby the same happened again NO ROUTE FOUND so then i thought i would try a town near to Nottingham and i put in Beeston and it gave me the route. So it needs an update i thought to myself, i have just done it but the same thing happens for both Derby & Nottingham NO ROUTE FOUND can anyone suggest what maybe wrong i bought the Tom-Tom in October 2007 and this is the first time i have had any trouble and also the first time i put in Derby or Nottingham. I might add that i update it with Tom-Tom home every 2 weeks to get the GPS lock and any Map-Share updates there may be. Thanks in Advance

En route to Plymouth from the Midlands mine would only show to Exeter and then to Plymouth.It did the same in reverse coming back.The final leg of the route came up at almost the same spot .
