My Grandson has recently moved into a new apartment which has telephone sockets installed, but with him just moving in he does not yet have a telephone.

The area he lives is not in a cable area but he tells me he wants to go on broadband.

Can anyone please tell me what are his the cheapest and best options of getting on broadband?

docspock, you need a telephone line to get Tiscali.
His only viable option is one of the mobile broadband dongles until he gets a telephone line put in.
Vodafone, 3, TMobile, Orange, Virgin and others do them. He will need to check that the one he decides on works well where he lives.

if he has telephone sockets in he will have a line installed already as it a new build flat, he needs to get it initiated with bt or another phone company when he gets a phone , at the moment the line will be dead
i know people say orange are crap (but they say that about all the bb companyies) iv'e not had one problem with them in 5 years i'm on bb 10mb speed for 10 p/month
