Internet provider

I am with AOL at the moment but am looking for something cheaper. I pay about £20 a month.

Can anyone recommend a good internet provider for less money?!

Nobody can recommend a "good internet service provider"

They can only recommend one that has been good in their experience.

I am currently with Tiscali and have had no problem at all with them, but all it takes is a quick look at a few forums and you can soon see that plenty have had problems with them.

It will be the same for every single ISP, some have good experiences with them, some will have bad.

This should give you an idea of cost comparisons though

When I ask everyone their opinion on a "good internet provider" I think it is pretty clear that I am asking for their opinion based on their experience! What else would I be asking?!!

Sheesh!

OH excuse me!

I must have missed the silent word "opinion" in your question, how stupid of me.

I answered politely and included a link with both price comparisons and customer ratings so I fail to see why you felt you had to get on you high horse!

mental note to self, don't bother answering any of scarletts questions again.

Chuck's right - he could say Tiscali's great, but he's also pointed out that many users think it isn't. I could say Virgin's being very annoying at the moment, since they 'upgraded' their service, but nobody else seems to be having any trouble, just me.

There isn't a reliable answer to this. Most providers are ok most of the time, but I don't think any are perfect all the time. It doesn't matter whose advice you take - you might be lucky (and probably will) but you might also be unlucky and end up cursing the person who gave you the advice.

I thank you for the link. But your response was pedantic. If I ask on here for people to tell me what, in their experience, is a decent internet provider, and how much they pay for it, I will get more personal views which is what I asked for. I think my question was perfectly clear. I take the risk of having only people's OPINIONS which may prove to be useful or reliable, or not! That is a risk I am happy to take, and that is why I posted the - clear- question.
