video editing ??

hi,
does anyone know if theres something i can download on the internet so i can edit the little video clips i upload onto my computer after ive taken them with my digital camera?
its just that i want to edit the beginning and shorten the length of the clip by a few minutes.
any help out there please?

If you have Windows XP or Vista you probably have Windows Movie Maker that should do the job

oh right ethel, thank you.. yeah im on windows xp .. sorry im a bit thicky .. where do i find this please?

Select all programmes, then accessories, and it's on the list. As you will be using it a bit, when you highlight the programme, right click and send a shortcut to the desktop - then all you have to do is click that.

You don't have to but it might be an idea creating a new folder for just your clips.
