Have you 'flattened' the image before trying to save?

What 'colour mode' is the file? RGB? Index colour?

Sorry to be thick but how do I know what colour mode it is in. It doesn't need flattening.

Off the menu bar at the top (on a Mac anyway): 'Image'... 'Mode'...

and the file name should end '.jpeg' not 'J PEG' as you have written above (in case that has something to do with it).

Thanks snagged, yes, it is RGB,
jpeg is just not an option given.

Try saving it first as a .tiff... then saving as a .jpeg?

Does the file 'need' to be a .jpeg?

What about a .gif?

Thanks snagged, I have done it ! It really needed to be a jpeg. You probably think I am really stupid, I just opened it as a tiff and went to file ,save as and it was there. I have probably done it loads before, just having a "senior moment" Thanks again.
