is my wireless router secure

can anyone tell me how to test my wireless router to make sure its secure??

Right click on the wifi icon by the clock, click 'view available wireless networks'.

If there is a padlock and 'security enabled wireless network' it is secure

eh?im on vista and it doesnt show a padlock any other ideas??

Does it say 'unsecured wireless network'?

it says local and internet when i run the pointer over it

did you have to enter a key or passphrase when you first connected to it?

If not then no it's not

yes - no there isn't a simple test - if it was simple it wouldn't be secure
