I have no idea at all about gaming consoles but my grandson seems to want an x-box 360. Is it just about killing and shoot em games.? Do they work on a PC or a TV set.? Do they have any benefit to a normal computer user as I understand they have a blu-ray drive Sorry for my total ignorance on this matter so any information is welcome......even forget it ....!

they are not just all about killing and shooting games, there are such games for them but there is also a huge range of games that are not about killinig and shooting (I play golf on mine quite a lot)
They work through a normal TV set and generally have nothing to do with your computer at all, and Xbox's do not have a blu-ray drive, it's just a normal DVD drive in them, though they do make a pretty good DVD player (it's what I use as my main DVD player)
If your going to get one go for the version with a hard drive (the 20gb hard drive is adequate for most)

no - not all ...... but the best ones are!!!!!
I'm certan that disco dancer and pony farm are wonderful .... but I'm not so sure he will
(lol chuck - I'm sure you'd both look lovely in a pink pringle (no- not the crisps) and a nice bobbley flat cap
the studs must make a mess of the carpet though)
chuck's right ... some people like to think - so there are puzzels, driving, adventure game, role playing etc etc
as an unsociable bear of little brain - and increasingly slow reactions I still have a leaning towards the good old 1st person shooter - doom style
but bubble bobble and luxor are also on my machine.
But my first love - I've just finished turok and crysis warhead (pc) and they wus fun fun fun
the 360 is the easy bit - it's the game that clinches the deal - and it has to be the right style - I cant drive, and I hate the dungeons and dragons stuff - I'd rather watch emmerdale
