When I download videos to watch they are green and blue and I can hardly see them. I have obviously got the wrong setting. What should I have to be able to see them and how do I do this, please?

Sounds like you may not have the correct drivers for your graphics card.

Find the CDs that came with your computer and install or reinstall the graphics drivers.

Once you have found out what graphics card you have, search the web to see it you can find updated drivers.
