wireless usb adaptors

I want to connect my personal computer to my wireless broadband I have for my business. Do you have to use a specific type of wireless usb connector depending on your router or will any make work? Whats the difference between them?

Any brand will do, although some manufacturers will want you to buy their kit exclusively, there's nothing stopping you from a bit of mix n match, Belkin adapters will work with Netgear routers for example.
The main differences is in speed (of connection) older types are rated at about 54mbps more recent ones are 128 mbps or more. These figures are best possible connection speed and in practice are not really achievable in the home or office environment.
Argos do a good selection as do PC World, Maplins, Dabs, ebuyer etc the choice is yours really.

Any usb adapter should work with any router.

I have cable broadband and my laptop connects to the router, as does my friend's usb dongle.

I put a wireless card in my desktop, by the way - usb dongles can be irritating, taking up a usb port and sticking out, subject to knocks and so on.

The card was a lot cheaper than a dongle and easy to fit
